　　Sodium carboxymethyl starch, as a disintegrant for tablets, can be added externally, internally, or both. It has hygroscopicity and is superior to ordinary sodium carboxymethyl starch in terms of swelling and fluidity. It is currently one of the ideal super disintegrants in China. This product also overcomes the "coating" effect of ordinary binders on drug active ingredients, promotes drug dissolution, and greatly improves drug bioavailability. The super strong swelling performance of this product reduces the impact of poorly hydrophilic lubricants on the slow disintegration of solid preparations. It has a good disintegration effect in both direct compression and wet granulation. This product is suitable for dispersed tablets, fast-disintegrating tablets, and traditional Chinese medicine extract dispersed tablets, with a general dosage of 1/4-1/5 that of ordinary sodium carboxymethyl starch.

It is a white or yellow powder, an electrolyte soluble in cold water. It is a type of modified starch, belonging to ether starches, and is a water-soluble anionic polymer compound. It is tasteless, non-toxic, and resistant to mildew; when the degree of substitution is greater than 0.2, it is easily soluble in water.
